Your children will eventually grow up and look back, with the eyes of an adult, on what we as parents did for them and in order to raise them. I am a single mom and absolutely believe that my son's life is enhanced by the child support that his father pays. He's able to have things and go places that I would not be able to provide on a single income. Although he doesn't have two parents in the home, he at least has the benefit of not suffering financially because of it. I also know two single dads, one whose former wife is in the same field as he and who pays support when he has the kids, he pays support to her when she has the kids. The other single dad has full custody but doesn't pursue child support out of pride. It is easy to think that the child support system is somehow victimixing dads who leave their wives & children, but the truth is whoever has custody gets support, because it is really the kids who need it and are benefitting.
